The primary manufactures we have utilized to implement Wireless Point-to-Point LAN bridging include Cisco, Bridgewave, Proxim, Alvarion and Ceragon.

NJBS will supply the appropriate experienced and qualified personnel to perform all of the tasks required to complete a Wireless LAN installation. Union employees for the cabling and antenna mounting requirements, manufacturer certified personnel to perform the Wireless LAN site survey and hardware configurations and a Cisco certified network engineer to establish the Wireless security options and connect to the customer LAN’s.

NJBS is also a NJ Certified Category 2 Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and has been on the NJ Minicomputer, Microcomputer Term Contract for the past 14 years.

Site Survey and Design

The most important part of implementing a functional wireless network is the engineering study. Line of sight, interference, distance, cable loss, climate zone and many more factors affect the performance and reliability of a wireless network. We at NJBS have over 8 years experience designing and installing wireless networks and have invested in the top talent and tools for engineering wireless networks that are guaranteed to work as expected.

Bridgewave Certified Engineers
Proxim Certified Installers/Engineers
Cisco Wireless and Security Specialization
Alvarion Air Partner
Ceragon Authorized Reseller
Hubbell and Seimon Certified Cable Techs

Our Wireless Engineering Survey is designed to insure a successful implementation for both building and tower installations. When dealing with multiple buildings or towers in a large area, there are many obstacles, which must be overcome to establish Line of Sight or LOS. Rooftop access, research, zoning etc.

  • Onsite Survey of Building for LOS to second location or tower
  • Spectrum Analysis (required for towers with currently installed gear)
  • Path Analysis between sites
  • Tower climbing to guarantee LOS
  • Identification of cable runs for power, grounding, RF and network
  • Submission of full mounting equipment and placement
  • Balloon Float where required
  • Bucket Truck where required
  • Identification of alternate link possibilities
  • Site or tower negotiations with owner
  • Zoning considerations
  • Full report submission with pictures and specifications for all equipment
  • Overall maps and summary of proposed network
  • Attendance at Zoning or Planning Meetings

Maintenance and Monitoring Services

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive maintenance on wireless installations is a key factor in maintaining the overall health of the network. A good preventative maintenance and monitoring plan can detect problems before they occur. The environment plays a large factor in the health of any equipment that is installed in an exposed environment. Small shifts in antenna alignment, expansion and contraction of weather sealing and newly installed equipment from another source all play a factor in the performance of the network. Due to these factors, we recommend inspection of the outdoor placed equipment on towers and rooftops twice a year.

Our engineers will perform the following during an inspection:
  • Document current RSSI signal levels compared to installation baseline
  • Inspect and replace any damaged weather sealing
  • Inspect and replace any loose cable termination points
  • Perform a Spectrum Analysis at the site
  • Align the antennae for optimum performance and tighten any mount points
These services are primary performed on point-to-point links between buildings and on towers where point-to-point and multi-point base stations are installed. Subscriber unit connections can be included in the schedule however we find it more cost effective to train your technicians how to properly maintain the equipment.
